Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of key clients primarily in the investment management industry. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional quality and service throughout the tax engagement cycle while staying current with state tax regulations and embracing emerging technologies.
You can expect to:
- Lead tax teams and engagements by developing tax strategies, managing the preparation and filing of state tax returns, and ensuring compliance with US tax regulations while liaising with key client personnel.
- Train and develop teams on tax tools, innovative technologies, and state tax regulations.
- Coach and mentor your tax team, leading with integrity and pride in your work.
- Engage in well-being and sustainability initiatives, and participate in a variety of social and community events aligned with our shared values.
About the Team:
Our Tax services genuinely make an impact by helping clients navigate complex rules, make informed decisions, and meet their compliance obligations globally. Our Tax team specializes in serving a portfolio of investment management clients, providing tax reporting and consulting services for both US and non-US partnerships and corporations.
Qualifications:
You are someone with:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent qualification (e.g., ACCA).
- A relevant professional designation allowing for practice before the US IRS (e.g., US state-licensed CPA, attorney, or IRS Enrolled Agent).
- A minimum of 5 years of significant experience in preparing and reviewing US state tax compliance and filings, including planning and evaluating state tax return filing positions.
- Experience providing tax services in a professional services firm or a large-scale law or public accounting organization.
- Knowledge of US international tax compliance and the US Internal Revenue Code.
- Experience in US taxation of investment products and services, including hedge funds.
- Strong project management skills, including experience leading engagements and mentoring junior team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field, and/or a JD/LLM (focused on taxation) from a US accredited institution.
