Accounting Associate/Bookkeeper
Local Outsourced Accounting Department is a leading provider of outsourced accounting solutions, committed to delivering exceptional financial services to our clients. We are currently seeking motivated and qualified candidates for the Accounting Associate/Bookkeeper position at our Boca Raton, Florida office. Candidates may be considered for fully onsite schedules.
Position Overview:
As an Accounting Associate/Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our clients’ financial records by computing, classifying, and recording financial transactions. In this role, you will also perform routine financial calculations and general ledger duties while checking the accuracy of calculations performed by others when needed. This part-time position may require overtime during peak accounting seasons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute general bookkeeping tasks, including posting transactions in accounting software and performing regular reconciliations of accounts (e.g., bank reconciliations).
- Prepare payroll and associated payroll tax returns and deposits.
- Manage the preparation of sales tax returns.
- Oversee accounts receivable activities, including processing payments, addressing client inquiries, and sending invoices.
- Handle accounts payable processes, including paying invoices and responding to payment inquiries.
- Maintain up-to-date vendor contact information.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax returns.
- Generate financial statements.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field is required.
- 2-3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential.
- Experience in tax preparation is a plus.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently with limited direction.
- Capability to handle complex tasks related to accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management, staff, clients, and vendors.
- High level of computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to reliable attendance.
